Maud Ferrari's biography
Maud Ferrari is originally from Lyon, France. After earning degrees in political science and history, she moved to Paris to write and direct her first short films: With... or without hair? (2003) and Merci Papa (2004).
In 2008, she completed two years of studies at the CEEA (Conservatoire européen d'écriture audiovisuelle), a film and television school that selects a small group of promising students and trains them in the art of scriptwriting (Master level).
She then directed her third short film, Beneath the Makeup (Sous le fard), which was awarded the Best Film prize at the Festi'Val d'Oise du Court (France) short film festival, in 2009. The film was also selected in several other festivals (Sacramento, Festival of Comedy of l'Alpe d'Huez, Festival of Valloire, Nîmes…) and is currently broadcast by NBC Universal, Orange and SVT2 (Sweden).
She has completed her first feature screenplay, Virgin, a coming-of-age dramedy, and she graduated with distinction in April 2012 of the Certificate in Directing of UCLA Extension in which she received the Laurel Hummel Scholarship (Excellence scholarship).
Her thesis film (also her first American production), The Chauffeur (2012), is a taste of a black comedy feature film that she is currently developing, Lady Diamond.
